“What has prompted me to write over the years is the hunch that something needs to be told, and that if I don’t try to tell it, it risks not being told. I picture myself as a stop-gap … rather than a consequential, professional writer.” John Berger.
I write fiction as well as non-fiction, for the love of writing. Mostly it is self-published because this keeps the costs down. As a micro-publisher I like helping interested friends and family members get their material out there. And I love to hear from readers.
My pen name for fiction is Jack Duffy, in honour of my grandfather.
So far I have written two crime novels, a screenplay for a film, a radio play, plus a few short stories. The short stories are free to download; the others have a small charge to cover costs.
